Fashion Friday: Meet shop owner and stylist Siobhan Taylor

Name: Siobhan Taylor, 40.

Who she is: Owner of MS Eye Candy Boutique, 85 Allen St., which shares space with Trend Up urban menswear, owned by Giovanni Centurione. Her boutique was previously located at 292 W. Utica St. for seven years, before relocating to its current address in May 2018. Taylor, a Lackawanna High School graduate, is an Allentown resident. She has a 22-year-old daughter, Alexis Gray, and previously worked as general manager at the former Ultimate Men's Shop on Delaware Avenue and as a sales manager at the Hugo Boss men's store at Walden Galleria. Both jobs taught her skills for running her own store, she said.

What she's wearing: Wild Fable red plaid pants from Target; Who What Wear black-and-white striped shirt with ruffle details on the cuffs, shoulders and collar, also from Target; black cardigan with gold chain trim from Lord & Taylor; Abound black sock booties with pointed toe from Nordstrom Rack; rose quartz bracelet from a gem show ("for good energy"); compass necklace from her boutique; hoop earrings from Forever 21; an assortment of rings from her daughter, TJ Maxx and a thrift store; and red lipstick.

Signature piece: Her rings. "I have hundreds of them – from rings passed down from my great-grandmother to costume jewelry to rings I found at thrift stores," she said.

"I'm the accessories queen. I overaccessorize to the point I have to take one piece off before I leave the house," she said.

Fashion statement: "I dress for comfort but also for fun. If you feel good in your outfit it helps you feel good for the rest of the day. You hold your shoulders differently; you feel more confident. You feel good in what you have on," Taylor said.

She described a class called Fashion Forward she taught to students – mostly seventh- and eighth-graders – in an after-school program at Hamlin Park School 74. It teaches kids about clothing and how to dress without worrying about brands and designer labels, she said.

Last thing she bought: Camouflage-print windbreaker in light and dark blue from TJ Maxx.

In the market for: "I'm in the market for a fanny pack. I'm debating between high-end or just a cool one in general," said Taylor, noting that she's not sure she wants to pay a lot of money for something that might look dated in a season or two.
